4 Sport ATV of the common people, who will be let go

Hard work has a reward. They bring food on the table, beer in the fridge and allow you to cool things you can save to buy into the newly added third garage stall. Mountain bikes, campers, fishing boats and ATV's are only a few of the toys you a second to the outdoors. The last thing you should do on a Saturday there is more work to do.

While we enjoy the use of 4x4 ATV snow plowing and marsh mud pack, we
also love to let loose and just ride for fun. And there is nothing more than carving the dunes or slices through the trees at a lighter weight sport quad or freedom they provide.

Here are four sport quads between 330 and 400cc, capable of delivering a great day Joyride or flee. Each packs more punch than the smaller entry level models and is less intimidating than the larger displacement speed walk and race-specific quads.

Honda TRX400X

This sport quad was the industry a decade ago, but it was a second time and 450cc sport quads did not exist! Despite his age, 400x (the artist formerly known as the 400EX) showed him to fun, reliable and affordable to! 2005 upgrades include a sportier look and vice versa to make it more convenient. So in '08, it has a package to feed fender and a new chair.

Powered by an air-cooled single-cylinder 397cc four-stroke, 400x is not much not package zip or hit as Suzuki's Z400, but it's close and covers just as enjoyable. While 400x could benefit from the addition of electronic fuel injection, the 38mm piston-valve carburetor proved to be reliable and give a smooth throttle moves.

The narrower width of 45.5 inches and 32.5 inches seat height makes going through heavy wooded trails fast and controlled. Aggressive corner and a big jump to take the front preload-adjustable Showa shock. But we would like to see better shock, complete with back reservoirs, we understand this cheaper machine can be reduced. The fully adjustable rear shock provides 9.1 inches of travel and not an admirable job of absorbing hard hits.

At 408 pounds wet, "iron-framed 400x so heavy" for motocross racing, but it is able to detect the approach facilitated the stock shape. Aluminium wheels and an aluminum swingarm weight down a little. The 20-inch rear tires provide Ohtsu decent draw and work well in sandy and muddier conditions, but could be stronger.

The 400x has one of the industry's best chain adjustment system. Three-disc brakes are standard and provides enough power to stop, but is not as immediate as some sport quads we rode. The new location is less lavish, but
is more refined - with a sleek front and wider rear rim - for sports riders. Since its '05 redesign, continued 400x to rise in price (up to $ 500).

With the current state of the economy, the saturation model and sport quad sales continue to fall we wonder if the 400x will remain in the profession or Honda 250R in heaven.

Trail Blazer 330 Polaris

Polaris Trail Blazer Categorize the 330 as an entry-level ATV, and we agree. Although his weight, displacement and overall size to be too much for some of the first riders, its automatic transmission, power, full-floor and single-lever braking makes it easier to drive than the other three quads in this group. Plus, an army of 2010, the upgrades improved this machine.

Updates to the plastic, set, lighting, suspension, chassis, disc brakes, master cylinder and fuel meters. Visually, it's easy to switch to modern plastics, increased the chair and clearer light, borrowed from Outlaw and was 28 percent more power to be seen. Owners should also notice a more practical fuel meters away, even if they do not realize that the fuel tank capacity grew 0.75 gallons.

It is also easy for the Trail Blazers new frequency identification. New floors are modern and functional, and contributes to improved ergonomics. The seat is shaped more and more and the height increased an inch to 35 inches, because of thicker seat foam and a new suspension. This could be the most comfortable sitting in the sport quad market. Earth decreased clearance of 5.5 to 4.75 inches added because Polaris protection of an eccentric beefier skid plate, which he called "a lot better."

On paper, the 330 also three longer thumb. This is partly due to the incorporation of a half-inch longer send Sportsman intended to better accept a windshield and other accessories.

During plastic chassis and suspension also went under the knife. Sportsman front struts (castings), with separate axes for the confirmation of the wheels, instead of the old front-end institution. Also shocks more sources better ride. Polaris engineers reinforced chassis, engine installation and customization and increased protection of the skirt. Braking was transformed by Sportsman calipers, larger brake discs and a new master cylinder, which increases blood flow capacity. The machine is also an inch wider, but retains the same A-arms.

The 329cc four-stroke engine is OK for lighter riders, but it feels slow for serious riders, especially when the quad's 492-pound dry weight are included in, but the pioneering work better accommodate larger riders because of its exterior dimensions. Then again, Polaris ATV not designed for speed records broken or fight for honor on a MX track. It was built for comfort, practicality and sail area, and other moderately challenging trails. The Trail Blazer has always stable area to produce and fun to Wheelie as Carl tire enough to get a foothold.

Suzuki Quad Sport Z400

While the Z400 is the most expensive 400-class sport quad, it is the most comfortable and packed with features. Electronic fuel injection came last year from Suzuki throttle better, stronger, more efficient acceleration. There is nothing wrong with a faster 400, right? For anyone who does not want to compete in a motocross race, the Suzuki sport quad for you. Even if you want black, light switch, the suspension and stronger steel-alloy chassis calm you.

Rising 398cc single-cylinder four-stroke was the most exciting force is the only water-cooled mill in this quartet. It fires electronically and have an almost five-speed transmission with reverse gear below. I have the Z400 rode with a group of 450 machines, and all the dimensions, its features, speed, controllable power range and level of comfort me forget all his strength disadvantage.

At 46.9 inches Z400 is the largest of the four ATVs and has the best stock suspension. Despite its low latitude, four-stroke it remain a stable pillar of the dense forest and trees love carving as a hungry 10-point bend. A 31.9-seat height helps it track angles.

Fully adjustable shoulder shocks deliver excellent suspension travel numbers and an excellent vocal abilities. The link-type rear, with its lightweight aluminum swingarm and single shock provide 9.1 inches of wheel travel. Prior to the full A-arm independent suspension provides 8.5 inches of travel and tracks well - point and shoot! Moreover, this machine feels lighter on the pitch as his 425-pound running weight suggests.

Ergonomically, Z 'appeal to riders of various sizes and shapes. The Z400's signature T-shaped seat, the best platform in the industry and certainly the most copied. Wider 46mm foot to support pins using
boots for aggressive racers and weekend warriors alike. The 20-inch rear tires are ideal for forest casual riders and beautifully delivers a good balance between the linear pull and push.

For those who enjoy a personal appearance, offering a limited edition Suzuki Z400 with special graphics and black wheels for an extra $ 200 The Z400 is in a similar predicament as Honda 400x, while the high sales figures in early
its history and the recent market saturation. But the Z400 is Suzuki's engine is not the way Quad Racer 450, addressed MX drivers. Plus, the addition of EFI gives it a technological edge over the others.

Yamaha Raptor 350

The Raptor 350 dates back to 1987 and Warrior label, but it is still alive in 2004 a renovation and its new name. And the fact it is a great stock parts with a large-bore brethren, Raptor 700R and yfz450 and has a unique pack also helps. Yamaha has confirmed that the Raptor 350 returns to the occupation of 2010.

The warm, two-valve, 348cc, air-cooled four-stroke had just enough muscle a smile on your face to sit, but it may ultimately want to tell you more. Reverse is also a strong selling point for the Raptor, although it is the reverse lever is difficult to operate in this group. The Raptor six-speed gearbox is also unique to the industry.

Surprisingly, to 396 pounds (wet), Raptor is the lightest quad in this group. Likewise, it feels heavy and a little underpowered when the roads all speed off. On forest roads, but the 350 is better than average in part due to its slim 43.1-inch width.

This sleek design and an old suspension may also make it more challenging to manage for inexperienced riders. And the five-way preload-adjustable shocks to it as much body roll too slowly. Some of the management of surface is also due to the Raptor's deck, especially the rear lines give a more rounded profile and are often happy slide. The hydraulic drives do work, and I've always enjoyed the flip-type parking brake.

Unfortunately Raptor size is his greatest instructor. This is the shortest (length and height-wise) and the smallest machine in this group, and the shortest wheelbase. This ergonomic adjustments may make some riders more than six feet feel cramped.
